Everyone who uses forums, blogs, or social networking sites knows that hosting individual files and images is much easier said than done.  Most image hosts force advertising, shrink your images, use highly complex URLs, or delete your files after a certain amount of time.  File hosts for archives and executables are even worse, forcing your users to visit ad-filled pages to download your files, preventing direct-linking altogether, and requiring users to purchase an account to download without de-prioritization.  And linking to a file you don't control, on someone else's server, is always a risky proposal; the admin you link from may delete the file you're linking to, block the site you're linking from, or they may get more creative and replace it with something else.

At Lupinia, we offer a stripped-down version of our web hosting to fill this niche.  You'll have FTP access to your files (another feature rarely available from other services), the ability to manage your own directories, unrestricted linking, and easy-to-use URLs (http://hosted.lupinia.net/YOU/yourfile.jpg).  As long as you don't abuse this service, your files will remain on the server indefinitely, the URLs will never change, and we will not force advertising on you or your users.

Please note that while there's little difference between this type of hosting and no-domain web hosting, this service is strictly for files only, and should not be used for websites or web pages.  If you need web hosting, your account can be upgraded at any time.
